Long Race

A down river sprint on the road side section of the Alseseca river. A 2.2 km run, with about 20 steep rapids and waterfalls, class IV/V. Racers will begin at the top of double drop and finish below Typewriter. Time will start and stop when racers pass under the start and finish lines.

Location At the Rancho el Siete, along the Altotonga - Tlapacoyan Hywy.
Safety 10:00 AM at the put in (Rancho el siete)
Registration Can be done online or at Aventurec until January 9 at 6:30 pm.
Kit pickup At the Rancho el Siete, along the Altotonga - Tlapacoyan Hywy, kilometer 7.
Bus pickup There will be shuttles going from Aventurec to the put in at 8:30am. And the same shuttles will be going back to the Awards ceremony down town and then going back to Aventurec. (Don’t forget to sing up for them at aventurec)

    Rules

  • Every competitor is required to paddle the course at least twice prior to racing.
  • Competitors will start in intervals of 2 minutes.
  • Any competitor who is overtaken must give the right of way to the person behind.
  • If a competitor sees another in trouble he must help, otherwise he will be disqualified.
  • Airbags are required.
  • Getting help from the safety from the safety, is valid during the race. As well as swimming and getting back in the boat to the finish area.
  • The objective of the race is to clean the alseseca river, therefore we ask all the competitors to collect trash before and during the race.
  • You must return the race bib at the end of the race.
  • We ask you to respect he local the community, by not abusing alcaholic beverages before and during the awards ceremony.
  • If any competitor is seen drinking an alcoholic beverage before or during the awards ceremony, they will be asked to leave and prizes will not be given to competitors under the influence of alcohol.
  • All kayaks of race participants must be under 9'6" ft.

Awards ceremony

The awards ceremony will be in Tlapacoyan's City Hall at 6:00 pm. Where the results and winners of the two races will be known and the prizes will be given.
